Mushroom Brown Gravy

Mushrooms in brown gravy
Serves 1 gallon


  • 1/4 Cup Butter
  • 1 Lbs. Mushrooms (your choice of variety) Sliced
  • 2 TBSP Oregano, Fresh Chopped
  • 2 TBSP Thyme Leaves, Fresh, Chopped
  • 1/4 tsp. Salt
  • 1 Gallon Water
  • 1 Each 83221 Superb Major Brown Gravy Mix, No MSG 10073292832212


  1. In a pot or large sauce pan over medium high heat add butter
  2. Add oregano and thyme to the melted butter, top with the mushrooms
  3. Stir mushrooms to soften and incoprotate spices. Add salt when mushrooms are soft
  4. Add water to pot and bring to a warm temperature 110-150°F
  5. Add Major Products Brown gravy mix to the hot not boiling water and whisk to incorporate
  6. Continue whisking until gravy thickens and just starts to boil
  7. Remove from heat and serve immediately or hold hot for up to 4 hours
